These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of nounupdate.com and the services, tools, resources and features made available through NOUN Update.
NOUN Update is operated by NOUN Update Educational Consultant, a registered business in Nigeria (BN 8844728). In these Terms, references to NOUN Update, we, us or our refer to NOUN Update Educational Consultant and the services we operate through nounupdate.com.
By accessing the website, creating an account, purchasing a service or otherwise using NOUN Update, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree with them, you should not use the relevant service.

Our independent status
NOUN Update is an independent educational and student-support platform. We are not the National Open University of Nigeria, and we are not an official department, representative or arm of the university.
Our focus on NOUN students and our use of publicly available university information does not create an official partnership, endorsement or agency relationship with the university unless we expressly state that such a relationship exists.
References to NOUN, university programmes, courses, academic notices, portals or other institutional information are made for informational and student-support purposes.
Where an academic or administrative decision must ultimately be made by NOUN, the official university decision takes precedence over information provided through our platform.
What NOUN Update provides
NOUN Update provides educational information, student-support tools, academic news, course resources, calculators, study tools, premium services, marketplace features and other services intended to help students, applicants, graduates and other users.
Some services are available without payment, while others require a fee, subscription, wallet deduction or separate purchase.
The exact features available on the platform may change over time as we add, modify, improve or discontinue services.
A feature being available on NOUN Update does not mean that it is an official university service or that students are required by NOUN to use it.
Using our information
We make reasonable efforts to provide useful and accurate information, particularly where academic dates, fees, registration, examinations, courses or other student matters are concerned.
However, university information can change. Portals may be updated, deadlines may be extended, fees may change and administrative decisions may be revised after we publish information.
For consequential academic or financial decisions, users should also confirm the relevant information through the appropriate official NOUN portal, notice or communication.

User accounts
Some parts of NOUN Update may require you to create an account or provide identifying information before you can use a feature.
You are responsible for providing accurate information where it is reasonably required for the service and for keeping your account credentials secure.
You must not knowingly create an account using another person's identity, access another person's account without permission or attempt to bypass account restrictions or security controls.
If you believe that your account has been compromised, you should change your password where possible and contact us promptly.
Student information
Some student-support tools may request information such as your programme, faculty, level, semester, courses, matriculation number or other academic information in order to provide a relevant result.
You are responsible for ensuring that information you submit is accurate enough for the service you are requesting.
You should not provide another student's private academic information without proper permission.

Paid services
Some NOUN Update services require payment. The applicable price and material service conditions should normally be displayed before payment or otherwise communicated to you before the service is purchased.
Prices for NOUN Update services are charges for independent services provided by us and should not be confused with tuition, registration, examination or other fees payable directly to the National Open University of Nigeria.
Access to a paid service may be limited by time, academic session, number of uses, credits, wallet balance or another condition stated when the service is purchased.
Users are responsible for reviewing the description of a service before purchasing it.
Payments and payment processors
Payments may be processed through third-party payment providers such as Paystack or another payment method displayed on the platform.
A payment is considered successful for our purposes when our system or the relevant payment provider confirms the transaction.
If your bank or payment provider debits you but the service is not activated, please contact us with the relevant payment reference so that the transaction can be investigated.
Users should not attempt chargeback fraud, payment manipulation, forged payment confirmations or any other attempt to obtain paid services without valid payment.
Wallets, credits and service balances
Where NOUN Update provides a wallet, credit balance or similar feature, that balance is primarily intended for paying for eligible services on the platform.
A platform wallet is not a bank account, savings product or investment account and should not be treated as one.
Wallet balances, promotional credits or service credits may be subject to conditions displayed when they are issued or purchased.
We may review or correct a wallet balance where a technical error, reversed payment, duplicate credit, fraud or unauthorised transaction is identified.
Refunds and failed transactions
Eligibility for a refund depends on the service purchased, whether access has already been provided, whether work has already begun and the circumstances surrounding the request.
A failed payment, duplicate payment or payment that did not activate the purchased service should be reported to us so that we can investigate it.
Where a separate refund policy or service-specific condition applies, that policy or condition forms part of these Terms for the relevant transaction.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to remove any right that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable Nigerian law.
Academic-support services
Some services offered through NOUN Update may provide tutoring, research assistance, writing support, study materials, summaries, practice questions, project or seminar assistance and other educational support.
These services are intended to support learning, research and academic development. Users remain responsible for complying with the academic rules and assessment requirements that apply to them.
Where we provide research or writing assistance, users should review the work, understand its contents and use it in a manner permitted by their institution.
We do not guarantee that any academic-support service will result in a particular grade, approval, examination outcome or graduation decision.
Study tools and practice services
Practice questions, mock examinations, summaries, calculators, AI-assisted explanations and similar study tools are provided to support preparation and understanding.
Practice content should not be interpreted as a guarantee that the same questions will appear in an official examination or assessment.
Predictions, probabilities, summaries and automated recommendations are educational aids and may contain limitations or errors.
Students remain responsible for studying official course materials and complying with university examination and assessment requirements.
Use of artificial intelligence
Some NOUN Update services may use artificial intelligence to generate, organise, explain, summarise or analyse content.
AI-generated content can occasionally be incomplete or incorrect and should be reviewed critically, especially where the information may affect an academic, financial or administrative decision.
The use of AI within a NOUN Update service does not make the generated information an official NOUN statement.
Important academic information should be verified against appropriate sources as described in our Sources Policy.
Marketplace and third-party sellers
Where NOUN Update provides a marketplace or allows third parties to advertise or offer products or services, the relevant seller or service provider may be responsible for fulfilling the transaction.
Users should review the identity of the seller, product description, price, delivery terms and other important information before entering into a transaction.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, the presence of a seller, advertisement, product or service on NOUN Update does not mean that we guarantee every claim made by that third party.

Academic misconduct and impersonation
NOUN Update is designed to support learning and student success, not to facilitate dishonest impersonation.
Users must not use our platform to impersonate another student, gain unauthorised access to another person's university account or obtain services for the purpose of deceptive academic submission where such conduct violates applicable academic rules.
We may refuse or restrict a request that we reasonably believe involves fraud, unauthorised account access or serious academic impersonation.
User content and submissions
Some features may allow users to submit comments, reviews, listings, questions, messages, documents, images or other content.
You remain responsible for content you submit and should not upload material that you do not have the right to use.
You must not submit content that is unlawful, fraudulent, deliberately defamatory, threatening, malicious or intended to harm another person.
By submitting content for publication on a public-facing feature, you give us permission to display, format and technically process that content as reasonably necessary to operate the feature.
We may moderate, restrict or remove user-submitted content where we reasonably believe it violates these Terms or creates a security, legal or safety concern.
Intellectual property
The design, software, branding, original articles, graphics, databases, tools and other original materials created for NOUN Update may be protected by copyright, trademark and other intellectual-property rights.
Unless otherwise stated, users may access and use our publicly available materials for personal and educational purposes.

Availability of the platform

Where a NOUN Update feature relies on an external portal, API, payment provider or third-party service, changes or outages affecting that external service may also affect our feature.

No statement on NOUN Update should be interpreted as a promise that a university official, lecturer, supervisor, examination body or other institution will make a particular decision.
Disclaimer
NOUN Update is provided on an as-available basis. We aim to maintain reliable services and accurate information, but we cannot promise that every feature will always be uninterrupted, error-free or suitable for every individual situation.
Nothing on the platform should be treated as professional legal, medical or financial advice unless a service is expressly identified as being provided by an appropriately qualified professional.

Limitation of liability
