NOUN Update is operated by NOUN Update Educational Consultant, a registered business in Nigeria (BN 8844728). This policy explains how we handle advertisements, sponsored content, affiliate promotions, commercial partnerships and the promotion of our own paid services across nounupdate.com.
Our aim is to keep commercial content clearly distinguishable from the independent academic information, news, guides and student-support resources we publish for our readers.

Our independent status
NOUN Update is an independent educational and student-support platform. We are not the National Open University of Nigeria, and we are not an official department, representative or arm of the university.
The presence of an advertisement, sponsor, partner or paid service on NOUN Update does not mean that the National Open University of Nigeria has approved, endorsed or authorised that advertiser, product or service.
Advertisers, sponsors and service providers using our platform must not present their relationship with NOUN Update in a way that falsely suggests official university approval or affiliation.
How we identify paid content
We believe readers should be able to tell when content has been paid for or commercially influenced.
Where we directly arrange a paid advertisement, sponsorship or promotional placement, we aim to identify it with an appropriate label such as Advertisement, Sponsored, Paid Promotion or another clear description close to the relevant content.
Where we may receive a commission, referral payment or other benefit when a reader follows a link or purchases a recommended product or service, we aim to disclose that relationship where it is relevant to the recommendation.

Advertising we do not knowingly accept
We do not knowingly accept advertisements that promote fraud, impersonation, phishing, malware, credential theft, fake scholarships, forged academic documents or deceptive guarantees involving admission, grades, certificates, results or official university decisions.
Advertisements must not request student portal passwords, one-time passcodes, payment-card security information or other sensitive credentials for unauthorised access or impersonation.
We do not knowingly accept advertisements offering to impersonate students or complete live graded examinations, tests or assessments on behalf of another person.
Educational, research, tutoring and academic-support services may be advertised where their purpose and limitations are represented honestly and they are not promoted as a means of deceptive academic submission or impersonation.
We may also reject advertising that is unlawful, deliberately discriminatory, hateful, sexually explicit, deceptive or clearly infringes another person's intellectual-property rights.
Third-party advertising networks
Some advertisements on NOUN Update may be supplied automatically by third-party advertising networks rather than arranged directly by our team.
These advertisements may vary depending on the visitor, device, location or advertising provider, and we may not manually review every advertisement before it appears.
