Our commitment to accuracy
At NOUN Update, we aim to provide students, applicants and graduates with information that is accurate, useful and reasonably up to date. Because some of the information we publish may influence academic or financial decisions, we take reported errors seriously.
We recognise that mistakes can occasionally occur, especially where university schedules, portal conditions, registration requirements, fees or administrative decisions change after an article has been published. When we identify a genuine error or important outdated information, we aim to correct it promptly.

How we review correction requests
When a possible error is brought to our attention, we review the published information against the most reliable evidence reasonably available to us.
For information relating to NOUN academic activities, we generally give priority to official university websites, portals, circulars, academic documents and direct institutional communications where available.
A correction request does not automatically mean that the published information is wrong. We may compare multiple sources where necessary, particularly when different notices or portal information appear to conflict.
How we make corrections
When we confirm that a factual statement is incorrect, we aim to correct it as soon as reasonably possible.
Minor spelling, punctuation, formatting or grammatical errors may be corrected without adding a separate correction notice where they do not change the meaning of the content.
Where an error materially changes the meaning of an article, affects an important date, fee, deadline, academic requirement or other consequential information, we may add an update or clarification to the page so readers can understand what changed.
Where appropriate, we may also update the article's last reviewed or verification date.
Outdated information and developing situations
Some information can be correct when first published and later become outdated. NOUN may revise academic calendars, extend deadlines, change portal availability, adjust administrative procedures or release new instructions after our original publication.
When this happens, we normally treat it as an update rather than an editorial error, provided the original information was accurate at the time it was published.
We aim to update important articles when reliable new information becomes available and, where useful, explain what has changed for affected students.
Unconfirmed or conflicting information
There may be situations where information is still developing or where available sources conflict with one another. In such cases, we may state that the information has not yet been fully confirmed rather than present uncertain information as established fact.
We would rather clearly identify uncertainty than give readers a false impression that a developing situation has been officially settled.
No silent rewriting of important facts
We do not intentionally leave information online after we have established that it is materially false.
Where an important factual correction is necessary, we aim to correct the underlying information rather than simply changing wording in a way that hides the original issue.
We also do not change factual conclusions solely because of advertising, sponsorship, commercial pressure or a request from an interested party. Corrections should be based on evidence.
