Amidst the ongoing fuel subsidy removal in Nigeria, students of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) were hit with a different kind of challenge during an e-examination at the Abeokuta, Kebbi and various study centres nationwide. The students experienced a power outage, which disrupted their online examinations.
In one of the study centres It was reported that the power outage was due to the centre's inability to fuel its generators with enough fuel for the examinations for the stipulated time. This is a sad reality for the students who have been forced to take the e-exams at the study centre.
The incident has left many students frustrated and worried about the future of their academic pursuits and grades, as many were seen crying and pouring their hearts out on various social media handles. They have called on the management to find a lasting solution to the issue of power supply in the study centre to avoid a repeat of such a situation.
The NOUN management has yet to make an official statement regarding the power outage, but it is hoped that they will take swift action to address the issue and prevent further disruptions to the academic future and ambitions of students.
