Information we collect
The Exam Summary service stores the name and email you provide, your securely hashed password, wallet balance, transaction history, unlocked course codes, summary progress and reviews you voluntarily submit.
Payments
Paystack processes checkout information. NOUN UPDATE stores the payment reference, expected amount, verification status and limited gateway details needed to credit your wallet and prevent duplicate credits. We do not store full card numbers, card PINs or OTPs.
AI course summaries
Relevant extracted course sections are sent to the configured OpenAI service to generate structured study materials. Student passwords and payment-card information are not included in those requests. Generated sections and token-usage totals may be cached to avoid repeated processing.
Why we use the information
- To authenticate your account and preserve course access.
- To process wallet funding and course unlocks.
- To resume your saved study progress.
- To protect the service against abuse, duplicate payments and unauthorized administration.
- To provide support and improve the study experience.
Retention and security
Records are retained as reasonably necessary for account access, payment reconciliation, academic-service delivery and legal obligations. Security controls include password hashing, CSRF protection, secure session cookies, restricted administration, payment signature verification and audit records.
Your choices
You may update your name, email and password from your profile. Contact support to request help accessing, correcting or deleting account information, subject to transaction-record and legal retention requirements.
Independent service
NOUN UPDATE is an independent educational support platform and is not the National Open University of Nigeria.
