For students combining education with employment, business and family responsibilities, finding time to study can be difficult. However, waiting until the examination timetable becomes urgent leaves less time to understand difficult topics, practise questions and correct mistakes.

Students should first review their registered courses and examination registration on the official NOUN student portal. Check course codes carefully, review TMA submission records on the university’s learning platform and report any discrepancies to the appropriate study centre or support unit.

Students are encouraged to combine these resources with active revision. After reading a topic, close the material and explain the main ideas in your own words. Attempt relevant questions, identify mistakes and return to the sections you have not understood.
A practical starting point is a daily hour divided into 30 minutes of reading, 20 minutes of practice and 10 minutes of reviewing mistakes. Adjust this to your circumstances and give additional time to difficult courses.
For written papers, practise responding to instructions such as “explain”, “compare” and “discuss”. For e-examinations, work on reading questions carefully and managing your time.
