The National Open University of Nigeria has appointed Mrs Ramatu O. Ibrahim as Acting Bursar following the death of the university’s substantive Bursar, Mallam Nasir G. Marafa.
The appointment took effect on Tuesday, 8 September 2026, and will remain in place until further notice.
According to the university’s announcement, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Uduma Oji Uduma approved the appointment with the concurrence of the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council, Malam Isa Yuguda. The Registrar, Mr Oladipo Ajayi, communicated the decision through a public notice.
Mrs Ibrahim previously served as Deputy Bursar, Treasury, with experience across several units of the university’s Bursary Department. Her appointment is intended to maintain continuity in NOUN’s financial administration. Source: NOUN News.
