A student of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Abdurrazzaq Abdurrauf Kehinde, has emerged as a winner at the ONDEA My Idea 3.0 Business Competition, securing a ?4 million business support package and an all-expenses-paid international business trip.
Kehinde, a Computer Science Education student at the NOUN Akure Study Centre, achieved the feat during the 2026 Ondo State Entrepreneurship Summit, held at The Dome, International Culture and Event Centre, Akure, Ondo State. The achievement has also been publicised through NOUN’s official social media presence and reported by other news platforms.
According to available reports, Kehinde participated in the competition as an incubatee of the NOUN Entrepreneurship Education (NEE 2026_1) programme, an intensive entrepreneurship development initiative that ran from March to July 2026.
The programme, coordinated by NOUN’s Directorate of Entrepreneurship and General Studies, is aimed at equipping students with practical entrepreneurial knowledge, business development skills and the capacity to create sustainable enterprises.
Kehinde’s success at the ONDEA competition reflects the growing emphasis on practical entrepreneurship and innovation among NOUN students, particularly as the university continues to complement its Open and Distance Learning model with skills-based development initiatives.
The ?4 million prize package reportedly includes financial and business development support, in addition to an all-expenses-paid international business trip designed to further expose the winner to broader entrepreneurial opportunities.
Reacting to the development, the Director of the Directorate of Entrepreneurship and General Studies, Dr Samuel Awolumate, described Kehinde’s achievement as evidence of the university’s efforts to prepare students not only academically but also for entrepreneurship and participation in the global economy.
The Vice-Chancellor of the National Open University of Nigeria, Professor Uduma Oji Uduma, also congratulated Kehinde on the achievement and commended him for representing the university positively.
The achievement is expected to encourage other NOUN students to take advantage of entrepreneurship, innovation and skills-development opportunities available within and outside the university.
