The Management of Benin Study Centre, National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Benin City, Edo State, recently organised micro teaching presentation for 200-Level students of the Faculty of Education. In his welcome remarks to flag off the exercise, the centre director, Dr. Akeem Disu, emphasised the importance of the micro-teaching exercise.

Disu explained that the essence of micro teaching was to familiarise the students with teaching activities and to develop core skills for effective classroom teaching. In an interview with NOUN News, the Faculty of Education Desk Officer at the centre, Mrs. Edith Ailemen, stated that the exercise is one of the non -examinable courses presented by 200 Level students of the faculty in their second semester.

Ailemen added that it is a crucial part of students' course work and is a pre-requisite for graduation . The presentation was done under the effective supervision of Dr. Jolly Okonza, a facilitator in the faculty.
