South-west Incubation Centre Organises Products, Services Presentation Contest

August 9, 2023

The Directorate of Entrepreneurship and General Studies (DEGS), South-West Incubation Centre, National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), has organised a contest for business exhibitions as well as product and service presentations among six of its incubatees.

The incubation centre director, Dr. Amusa Jamiu Oluwadamilare, said the motive of the contest among the incubatees was to showcase their business ideals and to open the window of success by empowering the best CEOs in the region, which will lead to contests at the zonal and national levels.

He said the six incubatees in the contest were to exhibit their products and services to the best of their ability.

The chairman of the occasion, who is also the Director of the McCarthy Study Centre, Prof. Rotimi Ogidan, said the GST 302 programme was organised for the youth.

'They should have the mind of innovation, putting ideas together, creating business ideas, and leading to building the nation. Our goal is to provide words of encouragement to the incubatees' he said.

Six contestants from the study centres participated in the product exhibition and presentation competition, which included the production of organic zobo, organic kunu, fried plantain chips, packaging of local rice (Ofada), tailoring and fabric design, black seed oil, and ointments and balms.

The panel of judges, comprising directors from study centres, and a duo of CEOs of organisations, examined, corrected, and gave recommendations where necessary to the contestants.

Ogidan, at the end of the competition, commended them for their thrilling presentations and declared Monsura Abdulrahman, a 400-level student of BSc. Entrepreneurship, who produced the black seed extracted oil and ointment for health, the winner.
