Have you searched for a NOUN course material using its course code but received no result? The course may not be missing. NOUN may have changed the course code while the material remains available under its original course title or code.
This guide explains how NOUN students can locate the correct course materials and avoid studying the wrong content.
Why some course materials appear difficult to find
Some courses now appear on the NOUN e-learning portal with new or adjusted course codes. However, the corresponding PDF material may still be listed under an older code.
For example, a course displayed on the portal as NOUN-CYB111 may have a material previously identified as CYB111.
Searching only with the new code could therefore produce no result, even when the material is available.
Step 1: Confirm the complete course title
Log in to your NOUN student or e-learning portal and check the course carefully.
Write down:
The complete course title.
The current course code.
Your course level and semester.
The number of credit units.
The course title is especially important because it can help you locate the correct material when the course code has changed.
Step 2: Search using the course title

Enter the complete course title in the search box instead of relying only on the course code.
For the best result:
Remove unnecessary words or punctuation.
Search with the main words in the title.
Check for minor differences in spelling.

Step 3: Confirm that it is the correct material
Do not download a PDF simply because its course code looks similar to yours. Open the material and confirm:
The course title on the cover page.
The course units and modules.
Whether its topics correspond with those on your e-learning portal.
Whether the material belongs to your programme and level.
The course title and content provide better confirmation than the code alone when codes have been changed.
Step 4: Save the material properly
After downloading the correct material:
Rename the file using the current course code and title.
Save it in a folder for the present semester.
Keep a backup in Google Drive, OneDrive or another secure location.
Avoid waiting until TMA or examination week before downloading it.

Confirm that the course was registered correctly.
